With 41.3k in 2023, tally of Indians seeking US asylum up 855% since 2021

Applications for asylum in the US from Indians have skyrocketed, increasing by 855% from 2021 to 2023. The number of Indians granted asylum has also risen, with 5,340 receiving asylum in 2023. Almost half of the applicants are reportedly from Gujarat, India.
