Windows 11's built-in photo-editing apps, Paint and Photos, allow users to remove an image's background or replace it with a solid color without third-party apps. Paint can delete the entire background and save images as PNG files for transparency. It also lets users remove a selected portion of the background. The Photos app offers background removal and replacement with a solid color, allowing users to choose colors from a palette or enter HEX or RGB codes. Users can apply the changes or reset preferences and overwrite the original image or save a copy.
